Letter to the Editor of the Dedham Times on March 24, 2023 from former School Building Rehabilitation Committee Member Derek Moulton

As a proud Precinct 3 resident, voter, and parent of two children who are the product of the Dedham Public School system and most notably both the old and the new Avery, me, my wife and our two now-grown sons will be casting our collective vote for Stephen Acosta on April 8th

Stephen’s credentials as a dedicated public servant at both the State and Local levels are admirable.   Stephen is dedicated to professionalism and being a positive voice for the Dedham community, but more importantly for the children he will serve when elected to the School Committee.  Additionally, I strongly support having a School Committee member who holds a post-graduate degree in Public Administration, something sometimes lacking in local government.

On a personal level I have watched Stephen grow into the young man he is today.   As his youth baseball coach years ago, I spent many a warm spring evening on the diamond at Condon Park with Stephen, his sister Maya, and his mom Holly.   I have now come to know quite well through our work together and through coaching baseball, Stephen’s stepfather Joe, brother Jason and fiancé Sophie.  I can attest to the fact that Stephen has a compassionate, community focused, loving and selfless support system in his family network, which is critical for any candidate entering Town Office.

In closing, I believe in Stephen’s ability, he is up to the task, and he will stay true to Dedham students and our community.   Cast your vote together with me and my family on April 8th for Stephen Acosta, School Committee.
